Chemical Dominoes
|
Project Overview:
In this project, we were supposed to make a Rube Goldberg machine with chemicals. The requirements were basically that it needed to be at least 3 steps, at least 2 chemical reactions, and 1 of those reactions had to be destroying a metal. We did a couple of labs such as "What destroys a metal?" and experiments with levers and chemical reactions. After the experiments, we brainstormed ideas for our project and you can see the result to the left. |

Reflection:
I was in the same group as the 5th grade curriculum and we worked really well. I learned many things about the different types of chemical reactions. I also learned that we can cause a domino effect with just chemicals. We had to do a lot of trial and error and we needed patience. I am happy with how my project turned out because we had to basically plan the whole thing with just a few requirements. All in all, this was a good project.
