Hybrid Car Design
In November, we had to make an alternative car engine design. Some examples of the alternative that we could use is battery, spring, and liquid. We, Cate, Max, and I, chose to do the engine. Here is the one pager for this project
Process:
We had only 3 weeks to complete the project. First thing we did was make out a plan. Then we made a blueprint of what the car would look like and we gathered the things throughout the project. Lastly we started building our car until really at the last second. Even then, it still didn't work because there was too much weight and too much friction. So we did our presentation with it not working.
Things we had to find:
Thermal Energy, potential energy, kinetic energy, acceleration, and velocity.
There are only two things that I didn't talk about yet. The first thing is Thermal energy and it is how much heat the energy gives off. The last thing is kinetic energy and it is the amount of energy it has due to movement. So there you have it.
Reflections:
I think that this was the worst project for many reasons. One reason is that the car didn't work on the last day even though we tinkered with it until the last minute. Cate even stayed up until 4 am on the last night and it still didn't work. Another reason is that we just tried one model and no matter how much we adjust things it wouldn't work. And the last thing is that I didn't stay on class. The good thing for the project is that I learned that if something doesn't work, then look for a different approach if you have a limited amount of time.
