Special Effects Movie
Group Members: Cole Weber, Tony Molloy, and Joe Malliaras
For the past month, we made a movie using chemistry special effects. Before we started, we did a couple of labs to give us ideas for the project. First, we learned how to make an egg explode and how to decompose water into its two elements, hydrogen and oxygen. Next, we learned about the heating curve of water among other things. After that, we learned about different mixtures, such as heterogeneous vs homogeneous. Lastly, we learned how to make flames different colors. Those are the labs we did before we actually started the project.
For the actual project, we first planned what we were going to do for the video. We chose to do the Star Wars scene where Luke Skywalker meets Yoda at the swamp. We then chose to film in the STEM building we built back in Freshman year. We got the script from the IMSDb website. After everyone finished filming, we had a Chemistry Movie Night on Monday, October 5. I'll link you to my some good movies below.
Chemistry Concepts
In this movie we used 2 chemistry concepts. The Concepts Explained starts at minute 2 if you want more information. First we filmed dry ice
