Analysis and Conclusion
Analysis
For the last 6 weeks of school, we went to O'Hair park across the street to study change in the environment. I did not really see any animals in my sight, but I had a bunch of grasses and a tree there. Since it is turning into summer and we aren't getting much rain, the ground got really hard and dry. Also, a lot of plants died because of the drought, and that made room for the drought tolerant plants.
The first organism that I have in my area is grass. I learned that most grass can live in droughts and that in grassy areas, there are a bunch of different grasses in one area. It has changed because some of the grasses died and some lived because of the drought. Some things that have affected these is the weather, ground, and the lack of animals. These are dominant in my area because they are drought tolerant and they are able to pack together.
The next organism is the tree. I haven't learned much about it. It has changed by the leaves going from light green to dark green. Some things that have affected the tree is the drought, the hard soil with little nutrients, and the little animals seen. The tree is dominant because it is the only big thing in my site.
The last dominant organism in my site are the small bushes. They are only about a foot big and they are drought tolerant. They didn't really change during this six week study. The same things as above affected this organism. These are dominant because they are drought tolerant.
I have learned that California is in a drought and that each plant is important to the environment. I also gained more appreciation for nature.

Conclusion
I met my objective in recording the different plants and animals in my area. Part of my prediction was correct but a part was incorrect. I was correct in that the grass and weeds grew larger and browner as it turned to summer. But I was wrong in that I didn't see any animals in my area.
Opinion
There were some good things and some bad things about this project. One good thing was that it was fun being in nature for a little bit of the class. Also, being able to choose our own sites was good because we got to be with our friends. Something that you could improve is being able to be out there for at least 30 minutes every day when we go out.
